MONEY=GOD?
By KIRK ANDERSEN

The way of the world is so very strange.
You can't get anywhere without any change.
Money is God once your off of La Grange.
The Earth, mankind has rearranged.

Modern man has no need for God or Satan.
It's the old yankee dollar he's atakin'.
If you cheat or steal you'll be arakin',
Cross them coals and you'll be abakin.
When it's really love you should be amakin'

Credit cards and checks are the national norm.
If your broke then you ain't even warm.
You see we worship money in all it's forms,
In the churches, hotels, arenas and co-ed dorms.

Your out of a job, out of money, then outta luck.

The rich get richer and don't give to a shmuck.
The poor are homeless and thus have no bucks.
Today's money hungry society really sucks.

Ex-Mrs. Trump has only $25 million, oh poor baby.
The rock and rollers seem to care, only after they tree.
Michael Jackson is black isn't he?
A world without money is a world for me.

Story Origin/Inspiration: This poem I originally wrote in 1990. It had 2 foul words in it that I cleaned-up when I updated it in 1997 to e-mail to some friends. I'm not sure what prompted me to write this one. I guess it shows my opinion of money, since I've never had too much of, or even had enough of it, especially in recent years.
